We need to change the Leash Laws !

Currently, the laws and ordinances in Yuma County need to be changed. The reason why lots of people are letting their dogs walk without a leash in my neighborhood. I see it almost every day. Now, here's the problem with that. If I'm walking my dog on a leash and someone else's dog is off leash, guess what? That dog comes running up to my dog. Well, you know what? That creates a fight most of the time. I mean, because usually if you want a dog to be friendly to another dog, you introduce them on a leash and make sure they're friendly. Well, people don't follow that rule here. And I've had two dog attacks, one just recently, and I'm sick of it. I'm to the point to where some dog need to be put down for good. I don't like hurting animals one bit. I love animals, but my dog is my best friend. He's like a kid to me. He's all I have. And I'm trying to keep him safe and me safe. Now, the law need to be changed. Here's an example. Dog came. I wrestled it to the ground. I didn't get bit. I got scratched up. The owner got a citation. Well, guess what? When you get a citation here, it's a civil matter. I mean, if they don't pay it, they just get a little judgment on their record. So, it's not a criminal offense. It's a civil matter. So, if a dog bites someone's face off, there's no accountability. The dog will be put in quarantine for 10 days, but then released back out. But that needs to change. We need to change the leash laws to where it's a misdemeanor and there will be some accountability that you will have to pay a fine. And each time it happens, there'll be worse and worse consequences. And that's the whole purpose of making this web page. I'm going to post everything about my neighbor's dogs. I'm going to take videos. I'm going to take pictures. I'm relentless. We need to get the laws changed to keep people safe in our neighborhood.Here are some photos of the last attack that happened 10/06/2025 at 8:10 am called the police at about 8:20 they send animal control they sent Whitley badge number 603 , One thing I realized is Animal Control they dont really do there job I asked him to take picture of my Attack he told me that he would not do that because if he takes any pictures he would have to show up for court? REALLY ! So whitley ended giving the person a citation he would not give me the name of the owner he told me that I have to call the city and pay money to get a copy of the report? Really ! I am done calling animal control in my eyes they are LAZY AND DONT WANT TO DO PAPERWORK. These picture are ffrom the last attack.
